Chromia, a Layer-1 relational blockchain platform, has unveiled the 2024 roadmap for its flagship game, My Neighbor Alice.
The roadmap, also referred to as the “Road to Decentralization”, outlines the transition of the game, unfolding different developments that will gradually shift control and decision-making power from the My Neighbor Alice team to the community.
My Neighbor Alice is a decentralized multiplayer game that allows players to explore the virtual world of the Lummelunda Archipelago. The Lummelunda archipelago is a beautiful complex of islands that are divided into regions, each with unique backstories, resources, ambience, and mysteries. Players can explore, gather resources, and draft NFTs within this virtual world. Alice is the caretaker of this virtual world tasked with nurturing and guiding players throughout all the adventures.
The roadmap reveals My Neighbor Alice’s upcoming Beta phase, dubbed Beta Season 1. The Beta phase reportedly aims to build on the popularity of its Alpha Season 4, attracting thousands of players and generating over 1.5 million transactions on Chromia’s Appnet. Beta Season 1 is set for launch in Q1 of 2024, welcoming all to participate and grow the My Neighbor Alice community.
In the coming months, the My Neighbor Alice team will also work on fungible placeables, collaborations in the same Land plot, in-game player-to-player trading, and implementing a set of emotes for Avatars and NPCs. Other developments include the long-awaited utility for the fruits grown from Mysterious seeds, marketplace improvements, a Player menu, naming of land plots, decentralized NFT bridge, bridge ER20 Alice token, and the release of the first version of a User Generated Content Tool aimed at helping creators produce in-game content. Just recently, Chromia announced a joint partnership with MNA and RSTLSS, reinforcing the focus on UGC.
Commenting on the roadmap, My Neighbor Alice CPO Riccardo Sibani stated:
“We are excited to embark on this journey with our players as we enter Beta Season 1. This roadmap represents our dedication to building a game that not only entertains but also empowers users to shape the virtual world they inhabit.”
Harnessing Chromia’s relational blockchain infrastructure, My Neighbor Alice delivers its users a transparent, secure, and scalable gameplay experience. The game can ensure the integrity of in-game transactions and interactions through this infrastructure.
Chromia plans to co-host the NFTVerse event in Paris on February 23. Chromia will join The Sandbox and Animoca Brands alongside several stakeholders within the Web3 gaming space.
