One of the world’s leading cryptocurrency trading platforms, Bybit, has announced the commencement of the world’s longest-running crypto trading competition, dubbed World Series of Trading (WSOT) 2024.
While the event boasts notable historic heights and has continued to surge remarkably in its year-on-year trading volume, WSOT aims for more expansion this year.
WSOT 2024 Incorporates Centralized and Decentralized Trading
According to an official announcement released today, the World Series of Trading (WSOT) 2024 will expand its features to integrate centralized and decentralized trading and allow participants to experience the trustless trading of the future.
Notably, the competition will feature Bybit Web3’s DEX Pro trading platform to offer participants access to over 1 million decentralized tokens, including meme coins, DeFi, GameFi, and more. These participants will also be able to participate in the first-ever Web3 Idol competition.
Furthermore, traders will be able to earn votes through trading and completing daily tasks. Conversely, voters can support up to three projects daily and have the chance to win from a 1,000,000 MNT prize pool, including a 600,000 MNT grand prize for those who vote for the winning project and 200,000 MNT daily rewards.
The winning project will receive exclusive CEO backing, prime listing, and marketing support, making it a key event in shaping the future of Web3.
This integration will see over 100 ecosystem partners and decentralized projects, such as MomoAi and Tars Protocol from Solana and Catizen and KTX Finance via Mantle, participate in the DEX Pro competition as part of WSOT.
Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO, commented on this development, saying, “Bybit aims to create industry best practices for onboarding users for both CEX and DEX to help create a broader landscape of crypto adoption.”
“By combining these two elements, we are enabling the smaller projects and specialist traders to rise up the competition ranks,” he added.
WSOT 2024 Launches With a Prize Pool of 10,000,000 USDT
Per the announcement, the competition will allow traders to battle in three arenas depending on their capital size which can be lightweight, middleweight, or heavyweight.
Each of these leagues will have its prize pool out of 10,000,000 USDT to ensure fairer competition, and that talent wins the day, not account size.
In addition, traders can add up to four sub-accounts within their Unified Trading Account (UTA) and rack up PnL across multiple accounts and markets, increasing their chances of winning.
Bybit’s UTA calculates margin across positions, unifies collateral, and improves capital efficiency so traders can operate multiple positions from one account. This makes it a killer tool for the rigors of competitive trading.
WSOT 2024 will be different from previous editions as its prize pool has been arranged to grow larger as more participants join the competition. It promises rewards that include yacht cruises, Rolex watches, world travel tickets, and up to 10,000,000 USDT.
Interested participants must sign up for WSOT when the event opens on October 1 and maintain at least $500 in their Bybit UTA account. All participants can invite friends to join WSOT and get more chances in the lucky draw.
